1996 Talon no spark Sign In

96 Eagle talon esi. no turbo. 2wd I get no spark. Got the car in this condition. engine turns over, and all the electrical seems fine. replaced plugs, and checked plugs wires. wanting to know if there is any way to check the coil-pack without having to remove or replace. And wondering if there is a fuse, or relay that could cause this.

There are a lot of reasons you may not have spark. First thing is to see if there are any trouble codes stored in the engine computer.

You need a OBD2 code reader or scanner. It plugs into the diagnostic connector under the dash.

Do they sell those at auto zone, or other auto part stores, or would i have to order it?

They have them at most part stores such as AZ. They also may let you loan one out.

If you don't live in CA, Autozone will read them for free. Just make sure they give you the number and not their interpretation of it.

I was lent an OBD2 scanner from a friend. Tomorrow I will test it and post error codes.

Re: 1996 Talon no spark Sign In

No, it doesn't................
Trouble codes don't tell you any specific part is bad. It merely gives you info concerning the circuit and further diagnosis will determine the actual cause.

Re: 1996 Talon no spark Sign In

What was the trouble code number you got? If that code reader tells you what part is bad, technicians wouldn't be using multimeters, oscilloscopes, wiring diagrams, symptom/flow charts, paying thousands for special tooling and training, and charging customers for diagnostic labor.

Must be a magical code reader that your using there.
