I have a 97 chev tahoe, 5.7. Have had a random mis-fire. Changed-plugs,wires,cap and rotor, ignition control module, crank positioning sensor. Seems to be running rich. Wondering what else it could be caused by?

You also might need to take it to a shop that has a scan tool that can get on the manufacture's side to see the misfire current and history PIDs. Maybe knowing which cylinders are misfiring can give you or them some direction. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

know when the miss is happening would also be helpful. Just at idle & slow speeds, Just at cruise, all the time?

In that case I also suggest that you take a fuel pressure reading and pay close attention to what the pressure does when shut off. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

My tester wasnt working properly - it was leaking off the fitting on the gauge )on the O ring) .. do you think changing the distributor would help?
