4.3L 155757 miles accidentally ran out of gas, though once fueled up started and ran just fine, next morning would not fire, took to mechanic said the problem was the fuel pump, took it home, replaced fuse but still wouldn't pump gas, relay is just fine, tried replacing fuel pump still would not pump, at this point I figure there must be some kind of sensor somewhere that I don't know about. any suggestions would be much appreciated.

There is no sensor that will prevent the fuel pump from priming. You need to use a fuel pressure gauge to determine exactly what the fuel pressure is doing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
