1998 winstar 3.8 cam position install. Sign In

I removed the cam position sensor on my 98 winstar to access bolts while removing the heads. I'm not sure on the proper procedure to re-install it correctly. I have a haynes manual, but it doesn't actually tell you how to do it without marking it b4 you took it out. any help would greatly be appreciated.

You need to mark it before removal . Or use a special alignment tool . Some parts houses will rent it to you for a nominal fee.

Use the open spot where the sensor sits on the syncronizer as the arrow on the special tool. Make sure the engine is on top dead center before installation.
