2000 Buick LeSabre stalling issue while driving Sign In

I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre Limited and my car has been stalling on me while I drive. I can usually start it back up and it will drive again, but sometimes I have to wait awhile and start it,before it runs again. It seems the warmer the car,the more the car will stall on me. Service engine light has been on,but recently went off. AutoZone' s machine read a cylinder 6 misfire. Someone thought it was my coil pack.I replaced that and I am still having the problem. Can someone PLEASE help me?? I'm just tired of paying for parts and labor and the main issue is NOT getting fixed

Re: 2000 Buick LeSabre stalling issue while driving Sign In

All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be tested during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment.
If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money.

Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for.

These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause.

1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on.

2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.

3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off.

Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out,
you will know which system is having the problem.

I want to add some -

Does it stall when slowing to a stop - is there a shudder feeling as it stalls?
Does it stall when accelerating or at hiway speeds?
Does the Ck eng LT blink or come on steady?
Is there a remote starter or aftermarket alarm?

I would suggest you take advantage of the FREE scan at autozone - get the code #s and post here.

Yes,sometimes it does stall when coming to a stop, but it doesn't always. It will cut off in the middle of me driving, leaving me stranded in the street. There is a shutter feeling/jerk before it dies.my lights get to flickering as I try to 're-start it.Sometimes when it starts back up,I try to give it gas,but it might still don't always stay started.my check engine light been on forever, but it just went off like 2 days ago,but I'm still having this problem and I have the alarm pad that came with the car(manufactured one)

Just a thought here, I had a stall problem warm on a chevy S-10, turned out to be the water pump. When warm it threw out coolant, after pressure built up. Check the fluid level, is it regularly losing fluid?
