I have a 200 GMC jimmy 4.3L. to make a long story short I replaced the fuel pump drove vehicle for a week then had the battery go out (low voltage yet started). At that time I started getting instrumentation errors (fuel, temp gauge inoperative, shift postion indicator not light, Air bag light on, seatbelt light on) I changed the battery and the instrumentation did not correct itself. I disconnected the Battery over night and now the car starts, runs for 5 to 10 sec. and dies. I attempted prior to this to have codes read at local auto store they said would not communicate. Based on that I went to bone yard and got a new ECM and installed it now all instrumentation appears fine however still starts and runs 5 to 10 sec. and dies. I don't know what to try next. I do not have a code reader. Any help would be appreciated.

Well Keith.....without another diagnostic scan it would be pointless trying to figure it out....there are several things that could cause this...you got fuel system/ignition/timing and a couple of others, and you need tools to test these.....the only advice I can offer is to purchase/or rent a code reader....autozone use to rent these out, don't know now,....and still there could be that chance of installing a bad computer.

I'm guessing here, but sounds like something is going to have to be reprogrammed. I'm surprised the used PCM even works, they need to be programmed to the vehicle. The IPC (instrument cluster) may need to be reprogrammed. You may end up having to tow it to the dealer or a qualified repair shop. Just a thought Jim

Will the vehicle run if you keep your foot on the gas? If yes, have the battery checked for voltage. Chrysler is sensitive to battery voltage. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
