2000 silverado Sign In

changed water pump. engine has since started to squeal again. doesnt overheat, good heat inside, no funny smells. any idea what the noise could be?

Are you hearing a belt either too lose (worn beyond self adjustment parameters) or wet from antifreeze might cause one to make noise. A new belt should probably go with this job. Some aren't quiet out of the box. I have better luck with NAPA belts, Goodyear than most cheaper ones,

Just an added note here.........

If you get any coolant on the belt and don't rinse it off right away, it will probably be noisy for life.
