2002 ram 5.2 stalls

2002 ram 5.2 stalls Sign In

I have a stalling problem intermitting, originates cold although drove for 5 mi with the problem
when I shut it down it had no problem till it was stone cold again
no check engine light or code although scanner reads upstrm rich
any ideas ?

Check and see what the coolant temp sensor is reading with a scanner when its cold. Sounds like a bad one. It should set a code for it but its a chrysler product so you never know!

thanks for your help , as it turns out the dome lamp switch had the dome lamp on intermitting bringing the battery to the point the next day it had enough to start the truck but wouldn't idle till the alternator charged the battery back

Thanks for the fix. I knew Dodge was critical to battery voltage, but never saw one act like that. Good job and thanks for posting the fix.
