You make sure your plug wires aren't switched? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

If it's running that bad it would have to be setting a code? No check engine light on? Did you double check all the timing marks before the install?

You're not really giving us much to go on here....You are at the car, we aren't You are going to have to start running some tests and give us something to look at if you want help fixing this. The cat turning cherry red is usually something related to the timing, either wires crossed, marks off, something. Take some vacuum readings, fuel pressure readings, compression reading, post a datastream & pull the codes again. You just put an engine in this thing, you can't just post a couple of vague statements & really expect someone who can't even touch the car know what is wrong....

No engine codes or fix engine lights on. Havew double checked wiring and firing order. Car starts great and whewn reved up runs real smooth, but when it idles it is rough and stalls out.

As Sidom just said - not a lot to go on yet. I still don't think you are sure of firing order which was the first guess and an easy mistake. Order is 1-3-4-2. Look at the coil. If not marked go by the pic and start at #1. Notice if you do the order clockwise or counter-clockwise in this pic again, That #1 and #2 would be correct either way but not #3 and #4. This would run like crap if all else was perfect and about no chance it doesn't already have a code with it running like this. If you have to check another few times make sure again and again that isn't reversed at the coil.......... When sure at least that is right even if this has only run a short while so far pull those plugs - if this engine wasn't tuned at same time or not they could be fouled up bad already?? T
