91 sonoma 4.3 coughs

91 4.3 engine will cough a couple of times under light acceleration and then sometimes will cough many times, and other days run well, have used "heet" and "sea foam " in throttle body and in gas tank. cough makes the truck jerk, it sounds like a real cough. it is a gmc with 120,00 miles.

May not be fuel related but rather the secondary ignition items - dist cap+rotor, wires and plugs instead of a fuel issue. Hard to say. If one spark plug looks different from the rest or two then those are the ones to chase down, T

Generally the module is a go or no go thing but make sure its wiring is good. You can mist dist cap with water and may show that it's the problem along with wires. Sometimes you can see a carbon trace in a bad cap and sometimes not. FYI - secondary problem are usually worse with damp conditions but could do it anytime, T

New cap and rotor did the trick.. the contact were just covered with corrosion, thx
