1992 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 manual trans. car has approx. 260,000 miles and ran great. Fuel pump started getting loud so I changed it along with the fuel filter. Before starting, I added Lucas fuel injector cleaner. Car ran fine first at startup. Just enough to pull out of the garage, shut it off, cleaned up and then pulled the car back into garage to work on door glass. Went to leave to go home and the car sounded like it was choking out. Managed to get the car home after stopping to fill it up and when I got home, the car died. Tried to restart but just sat there cranking. Waited for about an hour and tried again and it started, but chokes out again when giving gas. Totally stumped any suggestions?

Well since the problem just started with the new pump. I think the 1st thing I would do would be to take a pressure reading... I know that one isn't the easiest to hook up to but your best best is tapping into the fuel filter using fuel line & clamps.... If the SES light is one, pull the codes to see what's up.....
