93 Cutlass 3.1 misfiring Sign In

Have a 93 Cutlass Supreme ragtop w/3.1L engine 120,000 miles on it. Engine started missing. Talked to people said to change wires and plugs which I did. Now it is still missing though not as badly. When engine first starts, it runs smoothly no missing, but within minutes it starts missing on 1 cylinder. Once in awhile for a cycle it will run smooth, but that is unusual. Rechecked connections and all are good. Only odd thing was that in replacing spark plug wires, I noticed that the end connector on the "distributor" block thingie didn't look good so used a fine grit sandpaper to polish it. Did not help problem. Everything else looks fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Distributor?
That car shouldn't have one. The wires go directly from the coils to the plugs. If there is corrosion on the coil towers, then you need to change that coil too.

Thanks for the reply. I do not even know what that block the wires run from to the spark plugs is called and you have kind of confirmed my worst suspicion about it needing to be replaced.

There are a lot of things much worse than replacing a coil. that's not a big deal at all.
