i have a 1993 dodge stealth es 3.0l v6 dohc.. my problem is that i put new valves in due to the timming belt streatching.. after putting everything back in the car and having the timming corrected im unable to get full spark... now when i say full spark i mean only 1 of the coil packs are firing... i have swaped the coil packs around and only the center one fires.. so i checked the box below it the pto box that amplifies signal to the coil packs after getting a signal from the ecu... that wasnt the problem i got a new one and still same problem... so last week i chased it back to the ecu cause after testing the signal from the ecu to the pto box i found out that im only getting 1 signal out of 3, whitch i think would explain why only one coil pack is firing... so i orderd a new ecu and it came in a couple of days ago, i installed the new ecu and still only one could pack is firing and im still only getting 1 signal out of 3 from the ecu... so now i have moved on to thinking the crank sensor is not working correctly.. so this morning i went and got a brand new crank sensor from advance auto parts... i get home and put it in thinking it would start, still no luck only 1 of 3 coil packs are firing.. i am completely stumped on this and dont know where to turn.. is there anyone that can help me with this or give me any idea on what to check? i have plenty of tools and electronic gadgets to test stuff with.. any help would be great... Eric

Well I like your logic and you were really almost there but you jumped the gun and threw too many parts at it...... Let me ask you a question from when you were on the right track. When you were checking your signal and found only 1 out of the 3. Do those signals all come on 1 wire for the whole coil pack or is there a different wire for each signal?

there is 1, 3 wire plug that hooks the coil pack to the main harness... i was testing the signal from the ecu to the pto box cause i though there would be 3 amplified circuits in the pto box but 2 of the other leads dont get any readying... im vary puzzled about this car and can't understand what could have gone so wrong to loose all but 1 spark (coil pack)... have you or anyone else seen anything like this or know where to go from here?

Ok.. I was going off what you said and didn't realize the year we are talking about so were gonna have to try to get on the same page here. a 93 Stealth 3.0 has a distributor and doesn't use a coil pack. So I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say you have no spark. Technically in electronics there is no "spark" or "juice", just voltage, current and resistance. Those are terms for secondary ignition voltage that has been around for ages. Problem being when you start using them for other circuits, it gets confusing... One thing you can recheck is all your grounds. If memory serves me correctly there are a couple of ground straps back by the firewall that bolt to the plenum. Make sure those are hooked up. If not, where exactly don't your have power? If you have spark to 2 plugs but not the other 4, then you have a bad cap. If you have no spark out of the coil tower but power to the positive side then that's the area we would have to look at... It sound like it ran before, broke a timing belt, bent valves and you have put it back together. If that is the case, odds are real high either something didn't get hooked up or the belt was installed incorrectly......Those are the areas I would be looking at 1st........
