1994 ford f 150, 5.0 engine, ran fine. when turned off it won't restart. wanted to check the starter but it does not click or spin but the relay on the right fender clicks. want to know if this relay is bad and how do I check to see if it is?

The relay is supposed to click when it engages but that in itself doesn't prove much. You need to determine if full battery current is arriving at the other side of the solenoid when engaged. They had a lot of problem with poor contacts on those cable ends. It would be smart to remove them and wire brush both the cable and the post to be sure. Once that's eliminated if you still have the problem, your likely looking at a bad starter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
