1997 Dodge Intrepid 3.3 with 182,000 miles I have a 1997 Dodge Intrepid. In late October, after running fine, I parked it. I came out to start it up and it cranked but wouldn't turn over. Two hours later it started and ran fine. It has been happening several times a week since. Starts and runs. Go to the store. Starts and runs again. Go home. Cranks but won't turn over. Two - three hours later it starts and runs fine. I've tested the fuel pump, alternator, water pump and all came out fine. I replaced the ignition coil/module, the battery, the spark plugs and wires, the air filter. My mechanic says when it dies I have to call him and he'll test it while it isn't starting. But he never makes it in time. It is driving me crazy!

Being a Chrysler product (and I own two) with those symptoms, I'd be highly suspicious of the crank sensor. Don't always (actually seldom) set a DTC. But, he's right, he'll need to get it to act up to confirm. Loren SW Washington
