Hi... Have a 1997 Taurus, V6, 3.0, slight miss, floods easily on starting, no power. about 110,000 miles. Have replaced plugs, wires, gasoline in tank, cleaned tank Took it to local mechanic who checked the download from the computer, found nothing.

Did you per chance disconnect battery or clear codes before taking to a mechanic? There has to be some info stored with this behaviour so a better code reading may be required. Act fast and probably too late but for now I suspect an exhaust restriction, probably a destroyed converter to test at least. Saw you other post on trans thunking like you've been bumped from behind and if engine is that confused the trans isn't going to like that either IMO so it's probably one issue and I'd take on the flooding first and probably solve both, T

Pull the vacuum hose off the fuel pressure regulator and see if there is any fuel in the hose to indicate a leaking regulator. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
