97 chevy 5.7 with gas in oil

97 chevy 5.7 with gas in oil

My 97 chevy 1500 with the 5.7 is getting gas in the oil. Every few days it shows a little higher on the dip stick when checking it, and there is no doubt that it is gas thats getting in it. A local mechanic replaced the spider assembly including all injectors and it was still getting in it. Found that the new spider assembly was leakin and replaced it again. Well here it is a few days later after 2 new spider assemblies, pressure tested intake and cooling system that passed and each injector tested for leaks or spraying streams and its still gas getting into the oil pan with the oil. Truck has started knocking really bad for about 2 mins when first cranked in the mornings. Is there anything else besides the spider assembly and the injectors that could cause this problem or is this spider assembly bad like the last new one we had put in? Any help or more info you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What does the fuel pressure do when the engine is shut off? How much does it drop and how fast? The assembly came with a regulator as well, and im not sure how to test the oil pressure after turning the engine off cause the gauges turn off as well. I checked the truck with the problem and another vehicle and when turned off, the oil pressure gauge on both of them dropped to 0 instantly. The mechanic that put both the assemblies in is the best in our area as well, he very rarely makes mistakes and i know he wouldnt make the same one twice. Im just not sure if hes looking in the right place.

Who said anything about oil pressure? I want to know what the fuel pressure is doing. You need to use an accurate fuel pressure gauge. Your mechanic will probably have to put a shut off valve somewhere on the supply line at the filter. That way if he is checking for leaks, he won't get confused by the fuel pump check valve bleeding the pressure off. If the return line is plugged up, it will cause high fuel pressure. Enough to rupture something such as a regulator diaphragm. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I'm not too concerned about supply bleed down.
