97 silverado engine clunking Sign In

1997 chev silverado..5.3l 350 vortec. 285,000km..i purrchased this truck yesterday afternoon, i drove it back about 4 hours. it sounded fine ran excellent then i had just got into town 5km from my house and it just died..i tried to start it again it wouldnt start..it acted like the battery wasnt working..so i got a friend to come jump me. truck still wouldnt start. so i left the truck for the night, went back in the morning it started right up..but there was a really loud clunking in the engine and like a scratching noise. if i revved the truck the bangin/knocking got way louder and got rapidly faster..the truck has 6 in lift, on 35s. dual glasspack exhaust. with k n airfilter..not that i dont think you needed to know that but thought id give as much info as i could..anyways would it be a broken rod and a messed up bearing or what could it be?

Can you record the noise and upload it to a video hosting site and then paste the link in here?

Not sure if you even need to. You weren't watching the temp gauge and ran the engine after it was overheating until you locked it up. The motor is shot.
