98 Grandprix SE wont start???? Sign In

hi i have a problem with my grand prix se and i can't figure it out ...if any one can give me a start in the right direction ?

1998 Pontiac Grand prix se
3800 v6 engine
192,000km

i started my car letting it get wormed up it seemed to drive fine i entered the hyw pushing my gas to get up to speed and thats when it was like i had no power to reach my speed i needed ,then engine light came on so i pulled over and lifted the hood and the engine was shaking hard , so i turned it off and never started sense .......

now i tried "boosting" it and i get a quick clicking like it want's to turn over but dont.

so i tested the starter , removed the serpentin belt , checked the oil , alternator

i was told it was - ECU/PCM Computer
- Ignition Module
- crank sensor

Need Help thanks in advance

Pull the battery out and have it load tested. It sounds like you have a bad battery.

Once you get it started have the charging system checked out ON the car to make sure it's charging ok......

Remove the spark plugs and try to crank it and see if anything liquid comes out of any of the cylinders.

In addition to Desi's suggestion, take the serp belt off & see if it will turn over..

Good idea but do them separately so you will know which one made a difference.

LMAO.......Yea there would be a world of difference on which way to look if it did crank over.....

I just noticed in the 1st post where the belt was removed but am unsure if the engine was cranked over with it off....

The crank sensor has nothing to do with this.

Just for the heck of it, rap on the starter real quick with a hammer and see if that makes any difference
