99 silverado Sign In

5.3 L low coolant light came on. coolants not low. engine smells and feels hot though. is this a stuck thermostat ? water pump looks brand new. And, whats a co 2 emissions control code ?

there's a sensor in your overflow tank or near the very top of the radiator depending on model that turns on the low coolant light if it doesn't detect coolant on it. These do go out and trip the light. A CO2 emissions control code means your truck is producing higher than allowable amounts of carbon dioxide. When your exhaust gasses are tested, there are several gases that are checked and levels for each deemed acceptable. You have carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO) particulate matter (PM), oxides of nitrogen (NOX), and unburned hydrocarbons(HC).
