Info : 1986 Chevy K10 350 V8 260k Miles I was underneath my 86 Chevy K-10 and was pulling the starter out to see why it was not starting, then i came across this, I never bothered to check in the past I just figured that all old chevy's leaked some oil here and there. but can someone tell me by these 2 picture what exactly happened? or a guess would be nice, it seems to have erupted from the inside because the metal is bent outward and not inwards like if something where to have punctured it.... http://i.imgur.com/KjrtWF8.jpg Close Up http://i.imgur.com/JYfXr75.jpg

I guess you had the radio too loud. Your engine threw a rod and it's junk now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Maybe the reason your replacing the starter is because of what flew out of the oil pan. Looks like it is time for another engine or to junk the truck. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Call around and get prices. Craigslist is full of scrap guys trying to buy. If it's got a title, you should be able to get $300 to $400 for scrap.

Depending on what the rest of the running gear & body looks like......Try to part out what you can & then sell what's left for scrap...
