Do I need fuel pump with evap Sign In

How do you determine if your vehicle needs a fuel pump with evap or not?
This is on a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 engine.

Re: Do I need fuel pump with evap Sign In

Could you explain what you are talking about?

Are you asking which fuel pump fits it?

Re: Do I need fuel pump with evap Sign In

IIRC If it has evap emissions it will have a rpo code eva. I think rpo codes are in the glove box on that

mober1: It has evap emissions. Pressure check for the fuel pumps ability. Not sure what you are asking but if you think the gas tank can't breathe choking off fuel delivery (has happened here with a wrong gas cap) then loosen the gas cap for a test then let us know what your question is about please,

I don't know what you are talking about goiserclause . All 2000 vehicles have some sort of EVAP system and there is no "EVA" RPO code so let the poster answer the question.

I suspect he is trying to find out is the pump has a tank pressure sensor or not but let him answer.

Re: Do I need fuel pump with evap Sign In

I ran into this problem before. There are two different pumps for that truck. Only other way is to see how many connectors the pump has on top. But im pretty sure he should have a sticker in the glove box with or without an eva code. EVA - DVT, EVAP EMISSION REQUIREMENT according to GM RPO Master List. That being said, I could be remembering something wrong.

Re: Do I need fuel pump with evap Sign In

I am fully aware of what is available for this truck in the way of fuel pumps. There are no RPO codes dedicated to the EVAP system specifically. Now, will you please stay out of this discussion and let the poster respond.
