I HAVE A 1996 GRAND AM AND TODAY WHEN I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY I NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS ACTING LIKE IT DID NOT WANT TO GO I MADE IT HOME AND IT JUST SHUT OFF I THOUGHT I NEEDED A BOOST I GOT A BOOST AND IT STARTED AND THE ENGINE WAS KNOCKIN LOUD IT DIDNT OVER HEAT NO FLIUDS WAS LEAKING I GET ROUTINE OIL CHANGES I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR 4 YEARS AND I NEVER HAD A TUNE UP CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE I DONT HAVE NO MONEY FOR ANOTHE CAR AND I NEED THAT CAR TO GET BACK AND FOURTH TO WORK IM A STUGGLING SINGLE PARENT SO A NEED FOR A CAR IS GREAT

The 1st thing you are going to have to do is determine where the knocking noise is coming from. The is a wide range of things that could make that knocking noise, from something very minor to a major problem. Hopefully yours is minor... Something to think about for the future. When you start having a car problem, pull over right away. The absolute worst thing you can do is to continue to drive it. With most people the goal is "just to get home", problem being that in just those short few miles could've been the difference between a repairable problem and now needing a complete engine.. Now if your personally safety is involved, then no question, drive the car. A human life is worth way more than any machine but there is a cost.....
