If I step on the gas pedal with force at 60 or 70 mph, the engine will sputter. Normal acceleration is not a problem. If I accelerate slowly, the engine is fine at high speeds. The issue arises when I accelerate quickly at 60 or 70 mph. I had the spark plugs replaced in late April, so this shouldn't be a problem. There's a small hole in my catalytic converter (first identified in late April). Based on this description of the symptoms, can anyone pinpoint some possible causes of this issue? I'd appreciate any responses, thanks. That doesn't necessarily eliminate them. In fact it would make them more suspect. If one of the plugs was damaged during installation it could cause a problem. It's going to be pretty difficult to isolate what's going on without more testing and info.
