I recently had a catalytic converter changed on my 95 Chevy 1500, as well as changing the ignition module and ignition coil, and I also changed the alternator(it was charging at 16.5 volts). The truck still stutters a bit when pulling out, and while cruising at about 65-70. This morning on my way to work it was fine most of the way there, but when I got off the freeway, it wouldn't climb above 30. I unbolted the muffler and pushed it to the side, thinking the problem may have been the junk from the Cat clogging up the muffler, but it didn't seem to help at all. If anyone has any ideas on what i might need to check out, PLEASE help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The truck is a 95 with a 350 ci in it, and it has 268,000 miles, no not a typo, 268,000.

I noticed reading some other posts, that somebody had the same type of problem I'm having now. Theirs was a 97 Chevy, but was missing under load. He threw all kinds of parts ant it, way more than me, and still was having problems. Someone had replied that it could be a fuel pump pulsator, but it doesn't say if that fixed the problem or not. I was just curious if anybody knows if this may fixe my problem. Thank you.

Hey your beating me.... I'm only at 245,000. I think TomG had/has a high mileage vehicle as well.

Have you touched or replaced the Oxygen Sensor? recently? Dan wrote a great post explaing how engines kill catalytic converters, and this would then kill the O2 Sensor after some time.

Don't go buy a sensor yet, what you may want to do is get a Free computer check up and see if it can detect something, before you spend some more money on this.

What junk was in the catalytic converter? Im now really curious if this may be stuck in the sensor of the o2 sensor?

I do have a 97 Chebby truck but that guy only has 44k orig and nice machine. Already did all four O2 sensors as wiring at the cap where they go in wan't holding well so did them all - dammit $$ cha-ching and they worked and did throw a CEL intermittently..... wire would jiggle just so and it fell out in my hand! The after Cat sensor didn't alter the way it ran. Front ones can. At 268,000 miles converters are a mystery. Face it - most vehicles will never see 150k for one reason or another.

I've had a couple cars just over 200k but not the 1/4 mil mark yet. All ran well and were sold as unwanted anymore or too rusted to bother anymorePirate
