I have an older Izuzu Rodeo. I was checking the oil and the dip stick had a gasoline smell to it, should I panic???

Change the oil and monitor it to see if it's happening again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Does it ever run rough, such as on start up? Is the check engine light on? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Runs rough at start if it's real cold out, no check engine light has come on. I know it's about ready for an oil change, so I will do that asap. Thanks everyone for your help, this site is awsome ! I have this place book marked on my PC, lol

If you don't have a leaky injector, it probably would hurt to pull the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose and check for raw gas after the vehicle sat. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
