I've got a 1996 Ford Aerostar with an automatic tranny that will not start. It does not turn over at all. The lights come on so the battery seems charged. I tapped on the starter with a hammer and that didn't help. There is no sound when I try to start it. Although I believe I can here the fuell pump engage. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

1st step would be to get the battery tested and make sure the cables & connections are clean....

You can't tell if a battery is good just because the lights come one.

Had the battery checked (it's good) and cleaned the cable connecters. Also had the starter tested. Still nothing happens when I turn the key. In the engine compartment it says something about a fuel pump shutoff switch and to look in owners manual for location. I don't have the manual but if that was the problem wouldn't it turn over and not just start? Not sure what to try next. Ignition switch?

Have you checked the starter solenoid and connections? How about all the ground connections?
