I have a 97 ford explorer, 6cyl, 4.OL sohc, I have a very slight fuel leak at the fuel line return hose spring lock coupling. I am trying to change the seals, but cannot get the coupling apart even with the correct tool. Does anyone have a tip as of how to get it apart ?

Pain in the butt huh? Try cleaning up the things as best you can and some WD-40 might help get them apart. They sure snap together fast for the assembly line! T

I will try to spray some WD-40, and see if that helps.

When you insert the release tool, press the lines together as far as you can. Then the tool will slide in just a little farther and release the spring. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

In addition to the other tips, twist the connections after you spray it down so the O rings get loose & the lube gets in there..............

I'll try to twist it just as you say because so far nothing is working. If all else fails I will just have to take the fuel line completely out.

I lubed it and twisted it at the same time as you said and I could feel it getting looser and looser and it finally came off. Thanks for the help
