Lifters and car too cold? Sign In

The engine light came on and Auto Zone said it was the lifters and the car was too cold. The ticking sound has been going on for awhile but the mechanic said before that as long as the regular maintenance was done it would run fine. Now I’m wondering if that’s true. Does anyone have any insight please?

Please start your question with the year, make, model and engine size of the car.

What you are saying makes no sense at all. If you had a check engine light, we need a code number. If it was an oil pressure light and the lifters are making noise, then you likely have serious problems. Do not take advice from Autozone employees. They are not mechanics but seem to think they are.
