2011 Buick regal 2.4 L engine 130,000 miles started stalling Randomly, at stop signs & while driving Engine code replace intake and exhaust camshaft position solenoid’s. Replaced solenoid’s months later started stalling again. Pulled out intake camshaft position solenoid and it was covered with metal flakes much like glitter. Lots of it! Someone suggested timing chain guide, or timing chain issue. Just looking for possible confirmation. Or any other possibilities.

We can't confirm anything from here. There are all kinds of metal parts that can be tearing up. You need to be real careful as those chips are floating around in the oil and can do severe engine damage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
