hi my astro safari is not running ......its a 1995 4.3L, v6 I started to get problems starting it and it gradually got harder and harder to start until I started using easy start to start it. This worked a couple of times but now it doesnt. A few times I hit the fuel tank while cranking it and it would start but that doesnt work any more. I have taken it to a mechanic who has informed me that it is getting no spark. I have brought a crank shaft sensor, which the mechanic can not find where it goes,, a rotary arm and a fuel pump. He says the fuel pump is fine as he can here it working but has tried the other things and still....nothing. We have not got many american mechanics here in the uk so we need some advice. What could this be???????ji

What is a rotary arm? Did your mechanic replace the fuel pump? If smacking the tank gets the engine started, that is a sign of a failing fuel pump. Does your mechanic have access to domestic service information or no start trouble charts for GM? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
