Nissan Versa Sign In

I have a 2007 Nissan Versa and under the hood is a padded type blackish material I think it's called the a heatshield pouch, is that insulation like asbestos? like the kind you touch you itch to death? or is it just padding?

Re: Nissan Versa Sign In

There are plenty of things NOT to touch! Asbestos if you mean the real stuff is almost not used in anything automotive or otherwise long ago. There are other "organic" things that work.

Heat shielding, insulation, brake and friction items. It's (being sarcastic to a point) or anything that really worked and lasted has been banned from use or sale greatly if sold to the US or Canada.

Face it: An automobile is a pile a hazmats if you eat things, touch them, get burned, cut it's probably not for you,

Asbestos doesn't make you itch, fiberglass does.
