POSSIBLE CARB PROBLEM

1967 Chev Van 250 cu in straight 6, 4 speed manual trans. about 270 K. Has good compresson, starts easy, idles smooth, accelerates good. Problem is irrigular running or mild jerking, noticable at 1500-1800 rpm on level road. Have looked in the rochester model B carb a couple times expecting to find a problem with power valve sticking or vacuum passage restricted. Find no problem. Changed plugs, all old ones looked good. Checked distributor, found two terminals had corrosion(green) and same two wires had green corrosion. Replaced both, no change. Points and gap good. Distributor shaft no freeplay. Vac. advance responding normal. Have not changed condenser. I run my timing as advanced as possible without pinging. I set by adjusting to highest vac. at idle. I have another carb to try but have not yet. It is a single barrel Holley. Thanks for any thought on the subject. Henry

Lot of miles sport. Set points with a dwell tach. If old points didn't transfer metal condenser should be good. Life expectancy of those is unknown. Vacuum leaks anywhere, carb base, along intake manifold, hoses and carb might have worn shaft for throttle plate and leak there. Lots of possible reasons, T
