Shaking Mercury and it's codes Sign In

I have a 2000 Mercury Sable 24 Valve engine that keeps shaking when the weather is very cold. When I start up the car during cold weather the car is fine until the RPMs go below 1000, at which point the car starts shaking a lot, the light becomes dim and at times the car dies. The only way the car warms up and doesn't die is if I give it some gas and apt the RPMs to 2000. I went to a mechanic and they run a test on the whole car and found nothing. Then I went to the dealer and their recommendation was to exchange two-house vacum which I did exchange. The situation is still the same and now to top it off, the engine light is on. I have a feeling that not all of the cyliners are running. Does anyone have any advice for this kind of problem? Any feedback would be appeciated. They gave the following codes: 301, 302, 303, 457 EVAP. LEAK, P1131 02 SENSOR, P1151, SECOND 02 SENSOR

The P0301, P0302, and P0303 are misfires on cyls. 1,2, and 3 which are all on bank one. Check the firing order. It's possible that someone has cross wired the plug wires on the coil pack. Just ran into that earlier this week.
The O2 codes may be a result of the misfires. Need to address the misfires, first. The EVAP leak won't cause a drivability problem, so that one will be the last one to worry about.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I have checked the cables and they are fine. Maybe there is an issue with the coil pack, what do you think? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It is possible, but I can't recall seeing one lose all three at the same time.
