i have a 1996 Nissan Maxima well the problem is that the car wont start. its been sitting for about a month. since there was no lights and it wasnt doing anything (no sound at all) when we tried to turn it on, we tried to jump it. first it made some grinding noise when we tried to turn it on and the lights came on. then everything shut off again, even the lights (with the jumpercable still connected to it) and the battery started smoking a lil bit so we stopped. Plus the car wont move. we put it in neutral and the emergency brake was down but still wont move, not even an inch. any suggestions what we could do? thanks in advance

Well its sounds if the starter hasn't disengaged....can you tell by the sound if the starter is working?... remove the starter and check the gears and the flywheel / and check all the fuses and mains too/and for as it not moving......that could be the trans problem... also be the entire source of the problem.
