my 08 silverado LT with the 4.8L wouldnt stay running this morning. It would start but kept shutting itself down. Seemed like a battery problem because the engine sounded like it was boging down then shut itself off. The display said that it was lack of power and was going to shut itself down. Tried using a charger with no luck keeped shutting down. So thinking that it was either bad battery or bad alternator tried jump starting and didnt pull the cables to see if it would keep it running didnt bog down as bad but still shut itself down. Havent replaced anything yet so need some help!

The first thing I would look at would be the fuel pressure. There is a service port on the fuel rail to hook up a gauge. This ios a high pressure system with no tolerance for low pressure. The spec is 50 to 60PSI (Key ON, Engine OFF) and must be in that range. It will be slightly lower with the engine running. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
