phillip; The lash adjusters are hydraulic. They must be full of oil and free of air. I like soaking them in oil, flopping them around once in a while, while tearing down the job. This isn't a complete bleeding, but seems to speed up the process once the engine starts. It is very common to have more than one go bad. Very common to have others that are weak. Also, very common for the one that you replaced was masking the noise of another. It is always recommended to replace all of them at the same time. If you are certain that everything was installed and tightened correctly, run the engine for a few minutes at about 2000 rpm. This 'should' bleed the air from the adjuster and quiet it.
