  post locked   engine shuts off.

2005 Nissan Sentra four cylinder 1.8F. Several times now the engine just quits while driving. There is no sign of life eg; surging, sputtering, missing. After about 45 minutes of sitting the engine starts again. Any advice?

Can you clarify this? Does it quit as in shuts off and nothing in vehicle works like no lights, warning lights just like no battery? When you try right away does it crank and not start or just nothing?

If total "nothing" at least check by eye (don't know what you have available) if the battery connections look like a mess (corroded) or good and we'll go from there.

Always nice to know how old a battery is and they are marked but might not be visible in place,

Thanks Tom. Sorry for the brief info. It turns out that it was the crank sensor.

OK - glad it's fixed. You post didn't say it cranked or not but rather nothing so opened the book on anything. No matter now as it's fixed.

Thread closed as solved and YOU can request it be reopened by asking any moderator,
