I have a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, 2.2 engine, with a little over 100,000 miles. My daughter was going to work and the car died on the interstate. I came and took her to work and went and got some fuel injector cleaner and put it in the tank. It set about 5 hours before I could get my son to help pick it up. It started, but ran really badly all the way home. I got a code for a misfire. I changed the plug wires, the plugs, and eventually the coils. I took off the control module and took it to Autozone and they said it was bad. Luckily it was under warranty. I got all this in and the car now runs, but when you try to put it into gear, it dies. It idles really rough and the engine even shakes. That was this morning and I just got done taking a plug out to see if it was firing. It was fouled with black soot. Put it back in, but now the car will not start. Anyone have any ideas?

I would probably take a compression test next and see if there are any mechanical issues before you throw any more parts at it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
