lose of power Sign In

1992 Plymouth Voyager 3.3 liter with 188,000. When driving longer than 20 minutes my engine starts to lose power and almost feels like it's going to stop with some light back fire. I changed plugs and wires thinking that may help, but no luck. In fact after changing plugs and wires it runs a little rough. Don't understand why other than they changed plugs on my vehicle to a less hot plug is what I was told. Need some advice what to check or change next. Crazy

Need to get your backpressure checked to see if your cat is plugged

Re: lose of power Sign In

Step one is not the problem. Backpressure is fine not the cat converter. Now getting more poor gas mileage.

Re: lose of power Sign In

No codes , no nothing. Engine is just running rough. Back firing at low speeds on hills. Have to accelerate to 2nd to get some power.

It sounds like you are concluding all these facts without actually testing anything. Have you?

Re: lose of power Sign In

You could be right and the exhaust is good....

How about posting the backpressure readings you took so we can take a look at them?
