guys, i've just washed my JETTA III [1997 CSX, 1.8 (fuel injection) 214720=mileage], by spraying an engine cleaner solution then using the hose with pressure water to finish the job. now the engine just turns but cant start. i checked and dried the spark plugs as of course they were wet. after a few attempts of starting the car, i noticed an oil leak on the oil filter holder/socket. i had just done a routine 15000km oil change a month ago. where could the problem be and how do i go about reparing it?

This is a lesson learned. Never take a hose to your engine. It's highly illegal these days anyway unless you capture all the water. Get a blow dryer and start drying out all the ignition wires and inside the distributor cap if it has one. Just pray you didn't blow water into one of the important modules. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

That's a great way to get a squeaky clean lawn ornament! Mega thousands in possible damage - hope not but cleaner and powered water over an engine loaded with electrical items - not good. If hot engine even worse, T
