Check to see if the cooling fans are working properly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

They will only come on when the PCM detects an engine temp high enough to warrant the cooling fans to turn on. You can trigger them manually by either jumping the load side terminals of the relay of doing an ATM test with a scanner that has bi-directional control capability.

Glad it worked out and thanks for posting the fix. Sometimes the simplest things are the solution and the first things to check. Happy it wasn't some expensive parts.

If the contacts were loose then it likely overheated the connectors and your fix will only be temporary. You should replace that pigtail and the fan is likely on the way out.
