replaced the starter still wont start Sign In

I HAVE A 95 GMC SIERRA 6.5 TURBO DIESEL.THE STARTER WENT.AFTER REPLACING THE STARTER,THE TRUCK STILL WONT START.IT TURNS OVER NOW, BUT NOT STARTING.I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERIES IN THE PROCESS.COULD I HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG.ALSO REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP LAST WEEK.UP UNTIL TODAY WHEN THE STARTER WENT IT WAS RUNNING.CANT SEEM TO FIGURE IT OUT.ANY ADVICE THANKS DARREN ..........IM GOING TO ANSWER MY OWN QUESTION A LITTLE STARTER FLUID DID THE TRICK

hey dave it seems as though my truck is not getting fuel now i replaced the fuel pump last week.it ran fine for a few days then cut out while i was driving.its started after spraying the fluid in,then died again.im ready to drive this truck into the lake nothing but problems since i bought it last year any ideas

Can you hear the fuel pump prime itself ? Also have you changed the fuel filter?

thanks dave for getting back to me so quickly yes i can here the fuel pump and acttually when it first happened i replaced the fuel filter thinking id start off small. i replaced the fuel pump a few days after the filter. would this make a difference. thanks darren

It seems to me its a circut/sensor problem.....you need to retrieve any stored trouble codes in the computer....there are several things that would cause the (no start).....make sure there are no shorted out fuses, bad glow plugs,bad injector harness....guessing would become expensive...even the computer itself can be at fault....so if I were you....I would get a diagnostic scan done before replacing any other parts and go from there.
