I've always heard it refered to as; The engine "dropped a valve," "sucked a valve," "ate a valve," "swallowed a valve," "injested a valve." Not long ago I heard someone say; The engine "threw a valve." I thought, engines threw/throw rods, but not valves. What do you all think? What's the proper terminology? Sig removed

Some say tomato some say to-ma-to; I’m not sure there is proper terminology for this? Even if there was; it would end up meaning the same thing; the valve(s) are now NFG (no further good). Dan. Canadian "EH"
