we have a 1997 Nissan Altima with 247,000 miles..the car was run with very low oil for about 10 mile at highway speeds without incident. car was was taken off the highway to turn around and on accelerating up the on ramp the engine made a pop that the driver says she felt more than heard and then lost power and died. The engine did not seize up/lock up suddenly but lost all power and died when no gas was applied car would not and will not crank. battery is good and charged, coolant is not low. engine was running at normal temp at time of failure no engine oil or other lights were on or come on now.how can I turn this engine to see if it is seized up

Just try putting a socket and breaker bar on the crankshaft bolt but it doesn't look good for you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
