Hello all, I have a couple of questions and I am hoping that someone can help me out. I recently had headers installed on my truck and I have noticed a loss in power and fuel efficiency instead of a gain in both, the mechanic also installed new plugs, wires, a rotor button and distributor cap. The mechanic who installed the headers put about a half inch deep crease in my y-pipe because the driveshaft was hitting the pipe after he put the headers on. Could that be the problem? Can it be fixed?

Did you notice a loss of power and fuel mileage after the headers were installed or after the tune-up? Really don't think a 1/2 crease should cause excessive back pressure, but you could measure back pressure with a gauge. Shouldn't be over 3 psi at 2500 rpm. Is the check engine light on? Have you contacted the repair shop and let them know of the situation after the mod and tune up? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
