'02 Saturn Missing....

My '02 Saturn, model SL1 is missing. It failed the emissions inspection so the mechanic gave it a tune-up since he had the car already, put on a new gas cap and reset the computer. It passed inspection, but the engine light came back on soon after. The car feels like it's missing while it idles. During acceleration, however, it's fine. I've heard this could be an oxygen sensor. Any suggestions on this? If it is the sensor could an amateur like myself do this or professionals only? Thanks for your time, Rich

Your best starting point would be to get the PCM scanned for the engine light. The trouble code is what you should go after before you replace any parts. Steve
