got a 03 suburban 1500 2wd. just made a long roadtrip yesterday with no problems. after sitting parked overnight today its making a loud squeaking sound coming from the right rear. I checked the brakes and they are still in great shape, changed about 10 months ago. Had this problem once before about 4 months ago after driving through heavy snow. noise went away after couple of weeks. this time i was driving through heavy rain for about 7 hours. don't know if that helps. could this be a wheel bearing? PLEASE HELP, this squeaking is a annoying and embarrassing!

I don't know whether you have disc brakes or drum brakes in the back but it could be that all the lubrication was washed away from the contact areas of either the back of the shoes or the ends of the pads. If the pads or the shoes are working around on metal to metal areas without any contact lube, it will make a noise like that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
