08 Mini Cooper Dumping Coolant Sign In

I have a 2008 Mini Cooper (base) that recently starting leaking/dumping coolant. I noticed a spot on the driveway when I returned home (passenger side), but while out driving I had the battery light come on and A/C shut off. Noticed a fairly light grinding sound that sounds like it is coming from the belt/pulleys. A scan of the codes brings up P0128 and P112B, which seem related to engine temperature.

I have yet to put the car up, but I’m a bit unsure where to start to determine if it’s a general leak, the pulley, or even water pump that needs to be replaced. Just seemed a bit odd that the battery light also came on, like it is also effecting the alternator.

Any first step or guidance appreciated.

It started dumping coolant but you are still driving it?

I guess you would rather replace a whole engine.

I didn’t notice it was dumping coolant until after a drive (<1 mile), light came on, then when I returned home I noticed the spot. Not still driving it.

First check to see if the belts are still on then you need to get the cooling system pressure tested but I would tow it to the shop, not drive it.

! Find and fix the source leak first: All other noises and things like even A/C that didn't work is no doubt a pressure wash of engine coolant all over the place.
You wont know if damage to engine till you find and fix any/all seen leaks I'll add check engine oil for coolant could save you wasted time to be looking for a new engine instead,
