ok I have replaced fuel filter , spark plugs. The problem is when i try to start my car sometimes it takes few to start, and when it does start it dies when I put in reverse. But when I'm going down the road it does fine.Sometimes it starts with no problems other times it takes 10-15 minutes to get started. i was thinking it was fuel pump maybe , ( I know you need to do a pressure/volume test on it ) but i'm a poor man and can't afford to get it tested right now , any ideas on what I can do to make sure it is the fuel pump before i tear into it? Year of vehicle - 1987 Make of vehicle - buick Model of vehicle century Engine size 4 cylinder miles - ALOT

Sorry, but you may need to save your money up to have the vehicle diagnosed starting with checking fuel pressure when it doesn't want to start. Can't really even give you any idea unless there is some sort of test results to give us input in making any decisions. It would be like going to the doctor's cause it hurts when you pee, but you can't afford to have any tests done, so the doctor can't tell you what exactly is wrong. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
